Inflatable Alley
2020 was a tough year and caused us to miss many of our downtown events for the first time in decades. As we are close to coming out of the pandemic, we have taken time to revitalize and improve many of our events and our annual downtown fair in September is the first example of what is to come. We are bringing in big name performers, including Bruce Robison, Kelly Willis, a reunion of performers with Hillsboro roots in an event called “Kings of the Hill.” Kings of the Hill will showcase performances by Bellafante, Sunny Bobo, Michael Saldania, Lil Trouble, Meaghan Burkhart (including a tribute to her Dad, Jerry Burkhart), Ed Bluestein, D Hewitt, Ghosts of Hill County, Larissa Boyd, Kenneth Peel, and hosted by Justin Derington (JLD).
As we bring the downtown fair back we are relaunching it as the Hillsboro AutumnFest which will be bigger and better than the fairs of the past and add a celebration of fall days and (hopefully) cooler weather. We will be featuring the IBCA Barbecue Cookoff along with more than 100 vendors, a full schedule of performers from 10am to 10pm, Fall focused activities and themes, an old-fashioned midway full of classic games, Inflatable Alley, and so much more. We are so excited to be growing and improving with our community! So join us on October 30th for the Hillsboro AutumnFest throughout downtown Hillsboro.
The International Barbecue Cookers Association sanctioned State Championship BBQ cook-off will feature prizes include 100% payback of the entry fees plus $1,000.
Come ready to have a great time with the whole family. Rides and games are appropriate for all ages. Unlimited Ride armbands for Inflatable Alley rides may be purchased at the gate for $15 per person and will be good from 10am to 6pm on Saturday. Midway games are individually priced, but are at rates that guarantee the average family can enjoy lots of fun. Plus, tickets purchased for midway games support the local non-profits and churches volunteering for the booths.
There will also be over 100 vendor spaces featuring every type of fair food imaginable along with outstanding art and craft vendors. The Hillsboro Farmers Market will be open from 8am until 1pm.
The fair will be around the Hill County Courthouse Square. Be sure to check out downtown restaurants and shops as many will be offering specials during fair weekend.
